Yola G. Burke Brevard – Yola G. Burke, 98, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Milan, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Abele and Maria Sudano Ganguzza and was the wife of the late John J. Burke. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Marion Hennessy, and her brother, Anthony Ganguzza. Mrs. Burke was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Surviving are her son, Deacon Jack Burke and wife Fran of Flat Rock, NC; grandchildren, Theresa Girard, Thomas Burke, and Stephen Burke; great-grandchildren, Ryan Girard, Amber Girard, Natalie Burke, Melissa Burke, Devan Burke and Kyla Burke; great-great grandchildren, Alex Girard, Elizabeth Girard, and Michael Girard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 20, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Carl Del Giudice officiating. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
