IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yvonne Renee
Davis
August 16, 1964 – February 12, 2025
Yvonne Renee Davis was born on August 16, 1964, in Brevard, North Carolina, to Joyce Gash and Melton Mooney. Renee was a woman of exceptional character, admired for her perseverance, kindness, and charismatic personality that could light up a room and transform its atmosphere. Her life was a reflection of strength, love, and steadfast devotion to her family and faith. Her dedication to New French Broad Baptist Church highlighted her passion for serving others and living a life of purpose.
She was previously married to William Davis Sr., with whom she shared part of her life journey before they divorced. Together, they were blessed with six beautiful children whose lives were deeply enriched by the love and guidance of their parents. Though their marriage ended, they shared a profound commitment to their family and the values they instilled in their children, ensuring their bond as parents remained strong and meaningful.
With an iron will tempered by a heart full of love and kindness, she guided her family with wisdom and unwavering devotion. As a caregiver to her grandmother, Yvonne Gash Mingus, she exemplified compassion and loyalty, ensuring that she was cared for with dignity, grace, and respect. Her career spanned manufacturing, cooking, and, most importantly, the sacred role of motherhood, which she approached with unparalleled dedication.
Renee loved her children deeply and raised them with the wisdom of Proverbs 13:24, "Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them," and Proverbs 22:6, "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it." Her guidance was rooted in faith and the belief that a strong moral foundation would steer her children on the straight and narrow path according to God's will. She was not only a loving mother but also a confidant and stronghold, always there to support others through life's challenges.
In the kitchen, Renee's talents were nothing short of extraordinary. Her meals were more than sustenance; they were an act of love and an opportunity to bring people together. She delighted in feeding family and friends, seeing every shared meal as a chance to strengthen bonds and celebrate the joys of fellowship. Her cooking reflected her deep understanding of the importance of nurturing both body and soul.
Renee valued family above all else. She knew the importance of building and maintaining strong familial bonds, always emphasizing love, unity, and strength from being there for one another. Her legacy is one of love, resilience, and a life lived in service to others.
On February 12, 2025, Renee peacefully departed this life. She is survived by her loving mother and Matriarch of the Family, Joyce Gash; Long-term partner, Billy McCall; devoted children, Eryon Ford (Tera), Eshaenee Davis, William Davis Jr. (Faith), Danicia Davis, Franicia Davis, Jamia Davis (Jonathan); Beloved siblings, Tanya Taylor (J.R), Eric Gash (Donna), Steffon Gash (San), Tomeka Houston; treasured grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.
She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and the lessons she imparted. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by God's love and grace.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Bethel "A" Baptist Church.
