Honoring Those Who Serve: Our First Responders Outreach Event
In May, our dedicated staff proudly hosted its annual First Responders Outreach Event at the historic Railroad Depot in Brevard, North Carolina. The event welcomed local law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and community members for an evening centered on appreciation, fellowship, and gratitude.
Guests enjoyed a barbecue meal in a warm and welcoming atmosphere while spending time together outside of the challenges and responsibilities that come with serving the community every day.
Moody-Connolly team members John Monteith, Carla McElmurray, and Teresa Galloway were honored to serve our local heroes throughout the evening.
“At our funeral home, we believe first responders play a vital role in caring for and protecting our community during some of life’s most difficult moments,” the team shared. “They often work alongside families during times of crisis, tragedy, and loss with compassion, professionalism, and dedication. Hosting this outreach event was our way of showing appreciation and giving back to the men and women who serve others selflessly every day.”
Throughout the evening, attendees expressed heartfelt gratitude for the event and the recognition of their service. One of the most meaningful moments for our staff was seeing how appreciated the gathering was by those in attendance.
“We heard so many people say, ‘Thank you so much for doing this for us,’” the team shared. “It was incredibly rewarding to see how much it meant to them.”
Community outreach events like this reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting the people and organizations that help strengthen the Brevard community. We plan to continue hosting the First Responders Outreach Event annually as a way to honor the dedication and sacrifice of local first responders year after year.
