Carlos Allen Pangle, age 87 of Rosman, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018.
He was the son of the late Bessie Pangle. Mr. Pangle was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, June Sisk Pangle, and infant daughter, Stacie Pangle, and one brother, Alton Pangle.
Mr. Pangle was a veteran, serving in the U. S. Army. He retired from Ecusta after 41 years of service. He was one of the two surviving charter members of the Rosman Fire Dept. and Rosman Rescue Squad, served as a Rosman Town Alderman of 23 years, was one of the original founders of the Rosman Football League and was one of the community members to help build the Rosman football field in 1968. Mr. Pangle was a member and former Trustee of Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Rick Pangle and wife Valerie of Rosman and Travis Pangle of Rosman; one daughter, Susan Salter and husband Rick of Rosman; one sister, Doris P. Rogers of Rosman; two grandchildren, Joel (Laura) and Alaina (Taylor); three great-grandchildren, Gianna, Keaton and Maya; many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Dellinger officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in Mt. Moriah Cemetery with military rites provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
