After a short illness, Fred Parker, 82, of Brevard, left for Heaven on the beautiful fall morning of October 24, 2018.
After serving his country in the US Air Force, he worked in the Transylvania County School system for 30 years. Fred worked as supervisor of the school bus garage and later as a teacher at Brevard High School. He taught in the vocational school where he touched the lives of many students until his retirement. Fred loved spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, and was best known for his willingness and ability to help others, no matter the problem.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nettie Parker, two brothers, AJ Parker and Vella Parker; one sister, Delia Elliott.
Fred is survived by Delores, his beloved wife of 57 years; son Bryan, daughter-in-law Tina; and grandchildren Brynlee, Tate, and Blake. He is also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 with a celebration of life to follow at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church on Sunday, October 28, 2018.
