Obituary for Helen Reid Morgan

Helen Reid Morgan
Helen Patricia Reid Morgan, a lifelong resident of Lake Toxaway, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 18, 2014.
Helen is the daughter of the late Johnny L. and Nancy Fisher Reid. She was preceded in death by husband Travis E. Morgan and sister Ellen R. Walker.
Helen was born during her favorite season on April 8, 1941. She worked at Ecusta Paper Mill for over thirty years before attending Southwestern Community College, where she graduated at the top of her class in culinary arts. She worked at Burlingame Country Club for five years before retiring in 2008. In her retirement, she enjoyed watching birds from her front porch, rocking her grandchildren, and seeing her flowers blossom. She was an avid reader, loved to knit, always completed the Sunday crossword puzzle, and cooked for everyone in her community. She attended services at the Evangelical Church led by Tommy Owen in Brevard, NC. Her quick smile and warm heart endeared her to many friends who will miss her deeply.
Survivors left behind to love and cherish her memory include daughter Cheri Jones and husband Rex; daughter Melissa F. Kooker; son Jack R. Watson, Jr., and wife Laurie; son Russell H. Fisher, Jr.; sister Hazel R. Fisher and husband Billy M. Holden, each of Lake Toxaway; grandchildren Stephanie Jones Sutton and husband David of Rutherfordton, Jessica L. Jones, Travis R. Fisher, and Tylier S. Fisher of Lake Toxaway; great-grandchildren Andrew M. Sutton and Molly A. Sutton of Rutherfordton; and, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Moody-Connolly Chapel beginning at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 21, 2014, with the funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. Burial will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lake Toxaway, NC.
