Mary Jane Owen

Tuckasegee – Mary Jane Owen, 87, passed away on August 17, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Rosie Hoxit Owen. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Wayne Owen; sons, Randall and Jimmy Owen and a daughter, Frances Owen.

Mary was a lifetime member of Charlie’s Creek Baptist Church. Words cannot express what a special person she was to her family, church and community.

Surviving are her children; Dollie Hoxit and husband Berlen of Tuckasegee, Haroll Owen and wife Rhonda of Tuckasegee, Laverne Marchbanks and husband Wayne of Piedmont, SC, Foye Owen and wife Nancy of Tuckasegee, Irene Owen and husband Harold of Tuckasegee, Shirley Rogers and husband David of Haywood, Bobby Owen and wife Crystal of Balsam Grove, Dwayne Owen and wife Kellie of Toxaway, Velvet Owen and husband Ashley Hamlin of Tuckasegee and daughter in law, Brenda Owen of Tuckasegee; Eighteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Charlie’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Owen officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30pm at the church. Burial will follow at Wolf Mountain Cemetery.
