Evelyn Taylor Fletcher

Dear Janice, Donna, Gina and family, We share in your loss today, the Lord understands our tears and pain. Thinking of the good times with Ann is so wonderful. I remember when the family moved to Brevard, Ann was a beautiful little blonde. We loved having the family nearby, and mom was happy that cousin Carlyne was close. We were excited about going to visit our grandmothers in Newland together--they were sisters, Bertie Hall Blackburn and Maggie Hall Biggs. One time daddy decided to take the parkway, which was under construction. Only one lane was in use, so we had to wait at the Oteen entrance for traffic coming from Spruce Pine. Ann and I had never been so hungry! She had spent the night and we were all giggles and didn't eat much breakfast. We stopped in Altamont at Aunt Mamie's, dad went inside and asked for something for the two of us, and Mamie sent two hot, buttered slices of cornbread. It was the best bread we ever tasted! When we get to heaven, we can visit and enjoy being together again. There's nobody like mama, and I understand how you feel today. Please remember that she is with God, God is with you, so she can't be far away. They are surely closer than we can realize, because of the spiritual and family bond that not even death can break. Remember that our Lord holds us in His hands, we are safe even when we are in great pain. Please remember all of us who love you, and hang on to the knowledge that this is not the end. She is young again, free from all of earth's sorrow and suffering. She is visiting with the Saints of the Ages and all our dear ones who have gone on, and all her tears have been washed away by the hand of Jesus. How beautiful heaven must be!! Love you, Evelyn and family
