Lake Toxaway – Addie Owen Fisher, 95, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Brian Center, Brevard, after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Ben Owen and Emma Tinsley Owen. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John L. Fisher; daughters, Katherine Mason and her husband Doug, and Addalee Fisher; brothers, Cecil Owen, O’Neal Owen and wife Annie; sisters, Essie Robertson and husband Raymond, and Inez Corn and husband Glennard and great granddaughter, Ashley Brown.
Mrs. Fisher was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church where she served as a song leader for many years. She was a homemaker and spent most of her time caring for her special needs daughter for 61 years.
She leaves behind five children, Elaine McCall and husband Sidney of Brevard, Early J. “Bud” Fisher and wife Betty, Leon Fisher and wife Peggy, and Benny Fisher and wife Brenda all of Lake Toxaway, Kenneth Fisher and wife Helen of Piedmont, SC; brother, Joe Owen and wife Maryann of Columbus, NC; sixteen grandchildren, Deana Baker, Sheila Singleton, Connie Owen, Jeff and Lane Owen, Jenny Haggin, Doug, Mark, Kevin and Jim Fisher, Kellie Crabtree, Tracie Owen, Marcia Haddan, Greg Fisher, Kim Rector, and Jenny Harron; thirty great-grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and three sisters-in-law. She will be greatly missed by all.
The graveside service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Lake Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 PM Friday at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
