Obituary for Jane Elizabeth Shea

Jane Elizabeth  Shea
Brevard – Jane Elizabeth Shea went home to be with Jesus on the evening of September 21, 2015 with her husband of 58 years by her side.

She was born on December 24, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to the late William and Ruth Connors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Kathleen M. Connors and her grandparents; Col. Timothy F. Donovan and Margaret A. Donovan.

Jane was a music teacher, singer, pianist, organist, choir director and an elementary school teacher. She sang and played the organ for weddings and funerals. She played piano to accompany students during musical competitions and participated in musical plays. Jane is now singing and playing piano and organ and directing a choir of angels. She enjoyed cross stitch and crafting decorative flags.

Jane was a compassionate, loving and caring mother, wife, grandmother and friend always putting the needs of others before her own. She loved God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit and wanted to go to them when she was called.

She is survived by her husband Howard Shea; two sons, Timothy Shea and wife Maria and Michael Shea and wife Amy, grandchildren; Emily and Jacob, one brother; John Connors and wife Joan and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Western Carolina, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.

A Memorial Mass will be held 11am, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a reception to follow.
