Obituary for Viola Cantrell Rogers

Brevard – Viola Cantrell Rogers, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 20, 2015.
A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Alec and Luner Cantrell and was the wife of 51 years to the late Robert H. “Bob” Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Johnny H. Rogers and Boyce Rogers, infant son, David L. Rogers, great-grandson, Michael S. Rogers, brothers, Theodore, Jake, Ernest and Alec, Jr., sisters, Dorothy, Lona and Lela.
Viola was a very loving Mother, Grandmother, and caregiver to family and friends. She was very devoted to her family and she worked very hard from a very young age to always provide for her family. Viola loved the outdoors and beautiful flowers. She was retired from PH Glatfelter Company in Pisgah Forest, NC and she was a member of Middle Fork Baptist Church, Rosman, NC.
Surviving are her sons, Darren H. Rogers and wife Valarie, and Ronald H. Rogers all of Transylvania County; grandchildren, Tiffany Leshea Rogers, Kristina Brooke Honeycutt, John Rogers, Melissa McCall, Lisa Hyatt, Tim, Jeff, and Scott Rogers, Julie Galloway, Faith Rogers, Corey, Riley and Marissa Staton; 15 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren; nephew, Bill Trotter, several other nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Old Toxaway Baptist Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery.
