Brevard – Dorothy “Dot” Fisher Rogers, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.
A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Edith Monteith Fisher and was the wife of the late Richard Woodfin “Wolf” Rogers. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Owen and Willie Bryson, and three brothers, Ray Fisher, Ben Fisher, and Jim Fisher.
Dot was a genuine loving person who loved all she came in contact with. Family was her “love of life”. Her children and grandchildren were her whole heart. Being a hairdresser of forty years, she left behind generous amounts of loving memories to those who were associated but overwhelming amounts to her family. She will be remembered for her selfless acts of love and giving of herself to anyone in anyway.
Survivors include three daughters, Melanie Hannah and husband Rick of Bethel, Laura McCall of Rutherfordton, and Missy Walker Leopard and husband Tony of Brevard; one son, Jeff Rogers and wife Lorrie of Flat Rock; one sister, Ruby Pruitt of Hendersonville; one brother, Dick Fisher of Lake Toxaway; seven grandchildren, Candrea Moser, Amanda DeVore, Scott Rogers, Richard Tyrrell, Katie Stiles, Lauren Hannah, Becca Hannah; nine great-grandchildren, Skye Rogers, Abbigail Haney, Trey Haney, Emma Haney, Kollyn Stiles, Aislynn Hannah, Brayden Moser, Barrett Moser, Landon Eates; a slew of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 18, 2016 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
