Mills River – Wendall Wilkie Owen, 75, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016.

He was the son of the late Henry Harmon and Emma Knox Owen. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Owen; brothers, Curtis and A. L. Owen and sisters; Thelma, Vergie and Viola.

Survivors include his daughters; Linda Mitchell and husband Larry of Mills River and Terri Owen and partner Michael Cairens of Pisgah Forest, brothers; Dan Owen and wife Linda and D. L. Owen and wife Viginia, sisters; Rosalee Bruce and Dixie Owen and grandchildren; Mac Ray and Jody Mitchell and Josh Hasbell and several great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11am, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Woods Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 from 6pm – 8pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
