Bennet Stansell, 91, of Brevard Passed away February 11, 2013. He was born July 10, 1921 in Pickens SC to the late Joseph Stansell and Soonie Rigedon Stansell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Folger Stansell and J.B. Stansell, three sisters; Lois Williams and Alice Dunn and Pearl Keith.

After serving in the U.S. Army during World War II, Mr. Stansell retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of Cherryfield Baptist Church and also a Master Mason of the 32nd degree Scottish Rite, Dunn’s Rock Masonic Lodge # 267 and a Shriner.

Survivors include four nieces: Bernice Grindstaff, Sarah Alexander, Libby Konen and Barbara Owen and his special friend Shirley Whitmire.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday February 14, 2013 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memories with Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
