Obituary for Anna Wilmarth Kaplan

In the providence of God, Anna Wilmarth Kaplan, 93, of Brevard, NC, stepped into her eternal home on the sunshine filled morning of Sunday, December 15, 2013, from her Ridge Haven home. Her life continues where moth and rust, suffering, sadness and pain do not exist. She left this world singing and she continues to sing the praises of Divine Gracious Love.
Anna was a daughter of the late Bruce Wilmarth, and Bernice Hubbard Wilmarth. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry Stark Kaplan, and her brothers, Stuart Wilmarth and Paul Wilmarth.
A member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Brevard she served during her life in various ways including working with the Red Cross, teaching English in Hialeah, FL, serving as Director of Christian Education at Shenandoah Presbyterian Church in Miami, and serving as President of the South FL Women of the Church for the PCA. But none of her activities were more important than her service of love and prayer
for her family and friends. The memories of her life and stories will be cherished by all with whom she shared them.
Survivors include one son, Harry S. Kaplan, Jr. of Jackson, MS; one son, Bruce W. Kaplan and wife, Vicki, of Miami, FL; one son, Stephen R. Kaplan and wife, Linda, of Powder Springs, GA; one daughter, Terryce Kaplan Gilchrist and husband Stephen of Woodstock, GA; one sister, Ruth Olsen and husband Arnold of Amherst, NH; one sister-in-law, Merilyn Kaplan of Asheville, NC; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM December 21, 2013, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mo UpDeGraff and Rev. Dr. H. Andrew Silman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 PM prior to the service at the church.
Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
