Obituary for Anna Marie Partusch

Anna Marie Partusch
Brevard - Anna Marie Bryan Partusch passed away peacefully with daughters by her side on Christmas Eve, at the very caring Transylvania Regional Hospital, Brevard, NC.
Preceded in death by husband, Jack Partusch; sister, Rita Bryan Willison and brother-in-law Myron H. Willison.
Born to Tully Morten Bryan and Anna Sonneberger Bryan, Akron, Ohio. At age 5, moved with family to Miami, Florida. She attended Miami Edison and graduated from Miami High School in 1939.
Married 45 years to John Jacob Partusch, Farmingdale, New Jersey, a successful building contractor in Miami, FL while raising her daughters in the Catholic faith. She later assisted with a camping store business, before semi retiring to Brevard, NC. During their retirement, they built a tiny cabin and adopted a back to nature lifestyle on Gordon Mountain in Transylania County after sending their daughters to Western Carolina University. They raised organic fruits and vegetables, raised and milked goats, kept chickens, made wine and entertained a host of like-minded friends. For a “vacation” they donned backpacks and hitchhiked around the country. Then after several more years of mountain living, they bought a sailboat and anchored in Biscayne Bay in Miami, Florida. They sailed to Punta Gorda. Along the way, they made many friends. Returning to Gordon Mountain, they made additions to their craft cabin home. After her husband’s death, she remained a few years then moved to town. Annie got a job and walked to work at K Mart as a Greeter and Straightener for many years. After retiring at age 86, she kept house and home grounds and continued making friends. Last March, she moved to the wonderful Cedar Mountain Assisted Living House, Brevard, NC, where she continued being happy having fun and making friends to her last breath. Her motto: “The Best Things in Life are Free!”
Surviving are her daughters; Nancy Bates and husband Richard of Sebastian, Florida (formerly of Louisville, Georgia) and Annie Talley, Sebastian, Florida; brother, Thomas Bryan and wife Emily of Indialantic, Florida, grandchildren; Nikki Talley and husband Jason Sharp of Brevard, NC, Woody Talley of Wilmington, NC, Bonnie Bates of Brevard, NC, Daisy Talley of Sebastian, FL and Thomas Bates of Waxhaw, NC, great grandson; Evan Lance of Brevard, NC, nieces and nephews; Charles and Barbara Willison McCreary of Charlotte, NC, Patricia Willison Hardy of High Point, NC, Joan Bryan Hansen of Atlanta, GA, and Jim and Sandy Bryan of Melbourne Beach, FL, Leslie Bryan and Glenn Goldberg of Colorado Springs, CO , Jacqueline Susan Bryan and Rob Barrett of Orlando, FL and her beloved roommate at Cedar Mountain House; Mildred Owen of Brevard, NC.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Father Shawn O'Neal of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for his blessings.
