Condolence: I had the honor of taking care of Bessie for a short time while she was at the Kingsbridge House and I must say in that short time we became very good friends. She brightened my days everyday when I came to work. Her sweet smile and her loving touch. I could spend hours talking with her and learning about her family and childhood. Her husband Jim frequently visited her and I got to know him also. The love those two shared for one another was truly inspirational to see. I just heard of her passing and am so sad to hear this. I will keep the family in my prayers.

Condolence: I met Bessie and Jim 50 plus years ago when I was in the 5th grade. From the moment I met her she always personified the spirit and love of Christ. She always had a ready smile, positive attitude and a quiet, loving demeanor, a kind greeting and warm personality. Of all the ladies I've ever known she embodies the female 'heroes of the faith' best. If God were to give us humans a choice of a mother or grandmother you could never pick a better one than Bessie. She and Jim were the perfect pair and I have always admired, respected and valued them as friends. Brevard lost a fantastic lady. Heaven gained one. She will be missed.
