Obituary for Clifton Brunny
Brevard – Clifton A. “Clif” Brunny, 94, went home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2015.
He was born in Mississippi on April 16, 1921 but lived in many states as his father traveled for business.
Clif served in the U S Army and received an honorable discharge after a long stint in the Aleutian Islands. Later he moved to Miami, FL where he was the manager of operations and services for Eastern Airlines for 26 years and retired in 1981. While in Miami, he married his wife Virginia with whom he had a loving marriage of 42 years. She passed away in 2002.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Mel and a granddaughter; Karen Davenport.
Clif was active in his church in Miami where he taught Sunday School. He was a member of Brevard Davidson River Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon. He was a lover of all animals and has greatly spoiled the birds in the Deer Track subdivision with his many bird feeders filled with gourmet bird seed. Clif was a loving friend to many and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are his stepdaughter, Joyce Davenport and husband Bob of Brevard, grandson; Bob Davenport, Jr. and wife Mimi of Marietta, GA; great grandson, Clint whom Clif affectionately called “Buster”.
A Memorial Service will be held 1pm, Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Brevard Davidson River Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall. A private family graveside service will be held at Dunns Creek Cemetery with military honors presented by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Friends for Life Forever Farms, PO Box 340 Sapphire, NC 28774 or to the Brevard Davidson river Presbyterian Church, 249 E. Main Street, Brevard, NC 28712.
