Obituary for Edward Glenn Moody

Edward Glenn Moody
Rosman- -On the evening of March 26, 2016 Edward “Glenn” Moody left his earthly home after being informed that there was no hope of recovery from the cancer he had battled bravely for years without complaining.

A resident of Rosman, he was born on April 1, 1955 in Hickory, NC. In 1974 he graduated from Hickory High School and continued his education at CVTI. He found his true home in the mountains of Transylvania County rich in trout, deer, occasional snow and “good people”.

Glenn was employed by MB Industries for 31 years as a secondary operations supervisor. He always referred to his coworkers as a ‘good bunch” of people and “his girls”.

In 1986 Glenn was a partner in Twin Oaks Barbecue in Brevard. After it was destroyed by fire, he continued to make his wonderful BBQ doing many benefits and social functions with hopes of getting his BBQ truck operational soon.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents Robert Glenn and Eva Elrod Moody. Left with a broken heart to mourn his passing is the love of his life, wife Hazel Aiken Moody of the home, daughter; Lana Artz and husband TJ, grandson; Samuel Glenn and granddaughter, Kelsy Rebekah Artz of China Grove, NC; step son, Trace Aiken of Rosman, brother; George Moody, sisters; Elaine Evington and husband Tom of Hickory and Ruth Warren and husband Joe of Zionsville, NC; three nieces and three nephews. Also surviving are his longtime friend, hunting, fishing and gardening buddy; Frank Lipe and wife Laura of Pisgah Forest and friend Leon Barton and wife Kathy who were friends through thick and thin, brought together by the grace of God and longtime friend Dale La Rowe of Hickory.

It is only fitting to hold Glenn’s memorial service on his birthday, 2pm, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallace “Wally” McCall officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

With your flip flops and cap on, we say goodbye for now. We know you will be hunting, fishing and making BBQ in heaven.
