Obituary for Ethel Mae Cornett (Camp)

Ethel Mae Cornett, 74 years old, peacefully departed her earthly life on December 31, 2015. She was born November 22, 1941 in Brevard, NC to the late James Wade Camp and Edith Louise Camp-Sims. She was preceded in death by her Brother James Camp, Sister Joanne Ward and Son Robert Newborn. Ethel was a resident of Hendersonville, N.C.
Ethel was a dedicated, hardworking, strong and confident Wife, Mother and friend. She would go beyond the call of duty to help others. She was employed at Wilsonart International and she was a Foster Parent for many years. Ethel was a woman of integrity, she remained true and steadfast to her beliefs. She was never afraid to stand up for what she believed in and was always ready to stand tall for others whenever needed. She was full of life and touched the hearts of anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. She was a joyous spirit with a heart of gold. Ethel aslo enjoyed listening to music and dancing.
Left to cherish her memory; her Husband of 31 years, Vinson R L Cornett Sr., as well as her chidren, Willis “Billy” Lane Newborn Jr. (Tania) of Asheville; Sherry Newborn Williams, Teresa “Terry” Lynn Clayton, Judy Marie Newborn and Karen Louise Newborn; all of Hendersonville. In addition to one Brother; Wade Camp and one Sister; Helen Lurene Witherspoon both of Ohio. She also leaves 4 Stepchildren, 12 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and a host of Neices, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church, 20 Mills Ave., Brevard, NC. Burial will be in Cooper Cemetery.
