Obituary for Evelyn Moffitt Watson (Moffitt)

Evelyn Moffitt Watson, 82 of Pisgah Forest passed away peacefully March 10th, 2016.
Born in Tallulah Falls, Ga, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Ida Anderson Moffitt.
Evelyn moved to Henderson County at the age of 11. After graduating from
Etowah High School, she moved to Brevard and began her career with Olin Corporation where she retired after 42 years. She then continued to work part-time with Belk and also H&R Block for a number of years.
Evelyn enjoyed knitting, cross-stitch, needlepoint and worked on many craft projects for church benefits. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and photography. Evelyn was very active with and loved her church family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, George Moffitt, sisters, Clyde Henson and Agnes Scott, an "adopted" sister, Annie Jean Ivester, and a step-granddaughter, Amanda Watson Perkins.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years of the home, Lawrence Watson; a step-son, Wayne Watson and wife Rita of Penrose; step-grandsons, Kevin Watson and wife Miranda and their children Jenna and Jack of Asheville, Matt Perkins and his children Parker and Cabot of Wilmington; step-granddaughter Katie King of Hendersonville; brother-in-law, Bedford Watson and wife Marie of Pisgah Forest and their son, Tim; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Timothy United Methodist Church in Brevard on Monday, March 14ff. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm in the fellowship hall. The service will begin at 2pm with burial following in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Timothy UMC, PO Box 429, Brevard, NC 28712 in memory of Evelyn.
