James Ezra  Ward Jr.
Brevard – James Ezra Ward, Jr., 83 went home to be with the Lord after a brief illness on Friday, March 18, 2016.

He was the son of the late James Ezra and Sarah Davis Ward. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Ward and two sisters; Carolyn O’Neil and Betty Gosnell.

A native of Henderson County, James was one of the few people who left this world with no enemies. He was a dedicated husband, wonderful father and a devoted friend. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Lioba during the Korean War.

Surviving are his daughter, Tammy Young and husband Eddie of Midland, GA; one brother; David Ward of Cummings, Ga and two grandchildren; Jillian Viles and Nicholas Simeona.

Funeral services will be held 11am, Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery with military honors provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6pm – 8pm also at the funeral home.
