Obituary for Jane "Janie" Taylor Mann (Taylor)

Jane Taylor Mann, 89, of Pisgah Forest died Tuesday, October 6, 2015.

She was the daughter of the late W.H. (Bill) and Birdie Carroll Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph “Bud” Mann, Sr., an infant son, John Carroll Mann, four sisters, and five brothers.

She grew up in Buncombe County and was a graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School. She resided most of her life in Transylvania County. She was a loving wife, mother, and caregiver to family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brevard and served for over 40 years in the church nursery at Turkey Creek Baptist Church and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters; Pat Mann and Thurman Redmon, Carolyn Griffin and husband Bill, three sons; Ralph Mann, Jr, Charlie Mann and Charlotte Pless, Jim Mann and Traci Turpin, two grandchildren; Matthew Mann and Ashley Mann and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Turkey Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy Crocker and Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 8, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Sanctuary Renovation Fund, 94 S. Gaston Street, Brevard, NC 28712.
