Robert H. “Coach” Oenbrink

Brevard – Robert H. “Coach” Oenbrink, 94, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014.

He was born in Cincinnati, OH to the late Clem and Clara Stricker Oenbrink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Ruth Corey and step-daughter, Shelley Browning.

Robert proudly served his country in the US Navy in the South Pacific in WWII. He graduated from Duke University on a football scholarship with a B. S. degree in History. He taught and coached football for many years at Lakeland Senior High School in Lakeland, FL

Surviving are his daughter; Christy Morton of Brevard, son; Robert Michael Oenbrink and wife Sherry of Augusta, GA and a sister Martha Duesterhoeft of Dallas, TX.

According to his family, "He was the best daddy in the whole world!"

A Memorial Service will be held 2pm Monday, January 26, 2015 at St Philip’s Episcopal Church.
