Brevard – Eileen Richardson Nelson Rhyne, 93, passed away Thursday, December 24, 2015.

Born in Pueblo, CO on February 26, 1922, she was the daughter of the late John Friarson and Mary Lucille Boone Richardson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Cheatham Nelson and her second husband, John Rhyne, as well as by 7 siblings.


Eileen was a very active member of both First Baptist Church of Brevard and the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. She volunteered her time and talents to Sharing House, Meals on Wheels, Garden Club, Quilting Group and the Via De Cristo Organization of the Lutheran Church. She was known for her kindness and generosity. Hers was a life of service to others and to her Lord.

She is survived by her daughters, Betsy Bradley of Brevard and Kay Bradburn and husband Charles of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Kelly Jenks of Huntsville, AL and Chuck Bradburn of Athens, GA; great grandchildren, Adam and Hannah Jenks and Roy and Bernadette Bradburn.

A private graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Brevard with the Rev. Mary Shore officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 22 Fisher Road, Brevard, NC 28712.
