Obituary for Waybern Coy Shelton

Waybern Coy  Shelton
Waybern Coy Shelton, age 68, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018.
Mr. Shelton was born in Transylvania County June 13, 1950 to Jewell Chappell Shelton and the late Coy Shelton. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one grandson, Matthew Coy Whitmire.
Mr. Shelton was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and a member of the American Legion. He was retired from Ecusta and Gaia Herbs.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his life partner and best friend of 36 years, Rebecca Shelton of Brevard; four daughters, Cindi Rose of Rosman, Vicki Butler (Patrick) of Rosman, Jennifer Shelton of Brevard and Sabrina Rankin (Kevin) of Charleston, SC; one son, Bill Thomas of Brevard; two sisters, Linda Wright (Bill) of Leicester and Rita Searcy (Ronnie) of Brevard; five brothers, Paul Shelton of Rosman, Benny Shelton of Rosman, Terry Shelton (Mary Ann) of Brevard, Troy Shelton (Lisa) of Easley, and Tim Shelton of Rosman; five grandchildren, Neela Anders (David), Evan, Jayden, Mia Grace and Zach; three great-grandchildren, Leigha, Harper and Jayde Anders; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 PM Tuesday, September 11, 2018 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with military rites conducted by the Transylvania Co. Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
