Obituary for Brenda Pierson (McCall)

Brevard - Brenda McCall Pierson, a life long resident of Transylvania County, passed away suddenly in her home Saturday, December 20, 2014.
Brenda was the daughter of the late Elzie McCall and Edna McCall Ricker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Gail “Totsy” McCall and Wanda McCall, a brother, Jeffrey “Robin” McCall, and an infant son, Kent Bloomquist.
She is survived by a family that loves one another dearly. Two sisters, Freda McCall Martin and husband Ray of Quebec and Debbie McCall Rigdon husband Andy of Brevard, and four brothers, Larry McCall wife Angel of Hot Springs, Plato McCall wife June of Brevard, Rodney McCall wife Karen of Hot Springs and Keith McCall of Hot Springs and many nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly.
Brenda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was considered the matriarch of her family. As many of her siblings say, she was the glue that held the family together.
Being a native of Transylvania County, Brenda was well known and loved by many. She worked at Duvall Drugs, Love’s Jewelry and most recently at Cardinal Cleaners.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted husband, Harry Pierson; daughter, Jonlyn Pierson; grandson, Evan Orr; granddaughters, Randi and Taylor Orr, great granddaughter, Maya Orr.
She was always full of energy and had a zest for life. Her love for her family was boundless.
A memorial service will be held at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home on Saturday, January 3rd, at 3 PM in the Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be sent to a trust fund for her great granddaughter, Maya Orr, (the light of her life). The trust fund is set up at First Citizens Bank, 96 S. Broad Street, Brevard, NC 28712.
