Moody-Connolly Funeral Home and Crematory

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Margaret Hall can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Sweet Nanny

Nanny will be missed dearly. She was the best Grandmother to me and Great-Grandmother to my three children! She was always kind to everyone, never said a harsh word about anyone. She was faithful to her family and her church. She led by example. I have the fondest childhood memories with Nanny: weekly visits to the laundrymat in Etowah with a bottomless coin purse for gum balls and sweet tarts, walking across the railroad tracks to the convenience store for a coke and more candy, long walks down hwy 64 picking blackberries, walks around Etowah golf course picking up golf balls, hikes in pisgah national forest, teaching me to ride a bike without training wheels, roller skating, laughing and giggling while I sat in her car parked in the garage and she sat in the passenger seat as we imagined what it would be like when I grew up and could drive her around, chewing bubble gum and seeing who could blow the biggest bubble, getting carried on her hip or a piggy back ride when I was too tired to continue the hike or walk (even if I was almost as tall as her!), taking her niece, Debbie, to summer camp every year, eating gummy bears, Popsicles, story telling- she would read me Cinderella 100 times if I asked and assured me one day I, too, would find my Prince Charming! She loved the ocean and to hold hands and jump the waves. While I was in college and came home to visit I always went to her house before I returned to school - she would sit at dining room table and want to hear everything about my week. When the twins (Trey & Olivia) were born she and Gran Gran came everyday and helped feed the babies, hold them, love them and give me a break to shower or go to grocery store. three years later when William came along and I was working she looked forward to keeping him. She loved to read books to all of us! I love you Nanny and will see you again one day in heaven!
